Retro Cinema Sign
Retro Cinema Sign: Marquee outside the Metropolitan Cinema Twin in Goleta.

This movie theater has become more and more run-down over the years. Since they opened a new theater with more screens, quality sound, and stadium seating, the company has pretty much stopped caring about this one. This theater now shows second-run movies which, combined with the crappy seats inside, is why they only charge $3.00.

From the old marquee to the facade of the building, it's obvious that the theater hasn't changed much since it opened in the 1960's.

I'm always a sucker for paying only $3 to see a movie though. We have a theater like that by my house. Shows used to be only $1, so I still call it the "dollar theater." It is good for the shows that I want to see on the big screen but aren't worth the hefty investment of $8.50 per ticket!
