Do you wanna know fuel prices over here in Europe and then re-consider complaining about prices that are even supported by an unacceptable oil-buying policy of your country, driving up oil prices in Europe dramatically?!? Be glad that you Americans don't have to rely on your own oil alone! Posted by: Martin on 06.03.04, 2:18 PM
whoa easy there Martin. If you do some basic research, you'll find out that the reason for the much higher gas prices in europe are the european governments and their extremely high taxes on gasoline. it has nothing to do with any oil buying policies of the US. The US government taxes on gasoline are WAY lower than in Europe, and in certain cases there are even subsidies involved. Do the research and don't hate on Americans for this. The US has lots of problems worth analyzing, but driving up the cost of Euro gas is not one of them. Posted by: kevin on 06.03.04, 3:14 PM
The price is wrong!!! Some stations raise the price with NO reason other than the fact that it's the weekend and more people will be driving further, using more gas! One of them in my town even backed off and lowered the price when it was obviously going to be a rainy weekend! Posted by: sherle on 06.04.04, 5:18 AM
Sherle -- What exactly is "wrong" with a station altering its gas prices based on market conditions? Is it wrong to seek a higher profit when the demand for a product is going to be greater? Is it wrong to reduce the price if one fears that sales are going to be down? Posted by: ?? on 06.04.04, 8:43 AM
~one/a few suggestion: ride a bike, walk if you can, carpool, buy a smaller car and drive that SUV over a cliff...~ Posted by: btezra on 06.04.04, 9:21 AM

Gas dropped below $2.00 in Michigan this week. It's $1.99 next door, and $1.89 two towns south of here. Posted by: Smuj on 06.10.04, 8:32 AM
